Team Manager Alan Mann had a very close relationship with Ford and ran a number of Ford racing cars in his famous livery. Lotus Cortina CTC 24E was built in 1968 as a stopgap because the new Escort Twin Cam could not be homologated in time. With a 205 BHP Cosworth-Ford FVA engine and every spare ounce taken from the car it was a very rapid machine.

The Lotus Cortina Mk11 had a short career as a rally car, it was sandwiched between the successful Mk1 Lotus Cortina and Mk1 Escort. This car, which Ove Andersson used to win the Gulf London UK based Forest Marathon, was previously used by Bengt Soderstrom to win the Jant Rally.
